Madrid Plans to Build the Largest Metropolitan Forest in Europe

The Spanish capital of Madrid is planning to create a huge forest belt around the city to combat poor air quality, absorb carbon, cool it’s temperatures, and make the city a happier and greener place. This ambitious green project is referred to as “El Bosque Metropolitano” (The Metropolitan Forest) and it will include new parks, leisure areas and green bridges over several highways.

Toronto’s Garbage Trucks Will be Running on Trash as It Plans to Turn Food Waste into Fuel

Toronto is taking on a new green initiative and aims to have its trash collection trucks “run on rubbish.” In an effort to create a circular economy, Toronto is hoping to produce enough renewable natural gas from food and biodegradable waste to power a majority of its trash collection trucks as well as homes and businesses.

A 30-year-old father, who also is a Shanghai-based interior designer and video game enthusiast, invented a “coronavirus safety pod” to protect his baby boy from the deadly virus. The protective dad who is known by his moniker, Bai Ying, or the “white shadow,” designed the “special suit” for his family’s public outings.

This Marine Plastic Recovery Vessel Set a Record for Largest Open Ocean Clean-up in History

This is the Ocean Voyages Institute’s marine plastic recovery vessel and it set a profound record with its largest open ocean clean-up in history. After a 48-day expedition with the largest at sea clean-up to date, it successfully removed 103 tons (206,000 lbs.) of fishing nets and consumer plastics from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

This is an octagonal house in Northern Italy that rotates 360 degrees –in both directions and it chases the sun with its solar panels while offering amazing sunrises and sunsets as well as stunning views. The structure is balanced on a central pillar and has a steel frame, with walls made of wooden strips, and insulation panels of hemp and wood fiber.
