This Ventilated and Filtered Helmet Allows Closeness Without Contamination Risks

We’re in the midst of a life-altering Coronavirus pandemic where social distancing and sheltering-in-place has become the norm. Yet, the fact that we cannot be physically close to and hug our loved ones is still a tough pill to swallow. With this in mind, WASP (World’s Advanced Saving Project) invented the My Space Helmet.

The My Space Helmet is a protective helmet with ventilation and an integrated filter. It allows a person to go close to another person without the risk of contamination. As an air-conditioned, ventilated and controlled space, that can also be referred to as a positive pressure protective helmet.

With the help of digital manufacturing, (3D printed-using Delta WASP 4070 INDUSTRIAL 4.0)  this ventilated helmet is made of light and transparent plastic material. Comfortable easy-to-wear, My Space Helmet establishes a personally protected space. The entire head, including the nose, mouth, eyes, and ears are enclosed in a pressurized casing.

The wearer of the My Space Helmet will feel protected without any limited breathing. This is due to the fresh and clean air that comes from above. There are small holes by the ears that are protected by air-flow out to allow sound to enter. These ear holes can be closed if desired.

My Space Helmet’s fan is battery-powered and lasts for up to several hours. It’s also open-source, meaning its cutting design, STL files of the components, and the list of the commercialized parts are available to the public to download.
