This Tree-Shaped Wind Turbine Silently Generates Local Sustainable Electricity

This nature-inspired wind turbine is designed like a tree to generate sustainable electricity.

It’s called the Wind Tree and it’s developed in France by New World Wind. Each tree is made up of 54 micro-turbines called Aeroleaf, producing up to 2400kWh per year. Wind Tree can provide energy for 100-sqm of low-energy office space, 15 street lamps or 83% of an average household’s consumption (excluding heating).

The Aeroleaf’s design allows it to capture wind from any direction, from gentle breezes to powerful gusts, producing maximum power in all weather conditions. Wind Tree can be planted anywhere; you can set it up right next to your company, in the middle of your garden, on the top of your roof, even in the heart of a busy city.

They don’t create any noise thanks to its direct drive mechanism that functions without belts or gears. It can withstand storms and lasts about 25 years. New World Wind also has a Wind Tree with Solar petals that takes the technology further according to your electrical needs and budget.

The company says they are committed to more than just providing renewable energy. For every energy tree purchased, they plant ten trees and provide you with a certificate. They are on a mission to create a greener world through sustainable energy and also to cherish the nature that gave us everything.
