This Swallowable Capsule Robot Could Be The Future Of Stomach Disease Screenings

This capsule robot allows doctors to examine a patient’s upper gastrointestinal tract.

It’s called NaviCam by Ankon Technologies and it’s a magnetically-controlled capsule endoscopy that gives doctors millimetre accurate control, in a 360-degree full grid scan, using a NaviCam Control System.

Simply by swallowing a single-use pill-sized capsule with water, the gastroscopy examination can be completed in just 15 minutes, through a painless, non-invasive, non-anaesthetic, no cross-infectious method.

The robot takes high-quality photos automatically as it passes through the body and is expelled through a bowel movement. The technology developed in China is three to five years ahead of the rest of the world.

The check is comfortable, accurate, safe, and has been the clinical recommendation of gastroscopy in China, to improve stomach cancer screenings in a non-intubation way.
