This Self-Service ‘Face Mask Vending Machine’ Distributes Free Reusable Masks in Adult and Kid-Sizes

The Singapore government is staying on top of its COVID-19 prevention as it is rolling out its third nationwide mask collection since the outbreak hit. This time around they are distributing an improved version of the reusable face mask for free through a self-service vending machine. The masks can be redeemed by scanning the barcode on each individual’s identity card.

The reusable masks consist of at least three layers of material and reportedly have a filtration efficiency of at least 95 percent – even after 30 washes. Newly-added materials to the masks are supposed to improve their resistance to droplets and also provide more comfort.

The mask collection by The People’s Association, which distributes adult and kid sizes (suitable for children under 12 years old) launched on May 26th and will go until June 14th. There are 400 24-hour vending machines placed in community centers and collection counters throughout the island.

Third Mask Collection Exercise

From 26 May to 14 June 2020, residents may collect the improved reusable masks as part of the third mask collection exercise. Here are the details on where you can collect the masks:- 26 May to 1 June 2020 (10am to 6pm) from the counter at all CCs and RC Centres.- 26 May to 14 June 2020 (Open 24 hours) from vending machines at all CCs.Residents can collect one mask each using a valid identification card with barcode. 24hr self-service vending machines are also available at the CCs for residents to collect the masks at their convenience.Check out this video for three easy steps to collect your mask from vending machines.
