This Self-Recovery Tool Uses a Vehicle’s Own Power to Escape From Sand, Mud or Ice

This is the Bush Winch, a vehicle self-recovery system that was created in the rugged environment of the Western Australian bush. Created by geologist and remote destination traveler, Patrick Verbeek, the Bush Winch is “a simple, reliable, portable, and powerful solution” that stemmed from his off-roading experiences on rugged terrain in harsh, isolated locations.

This revolutionary winching system uses the vehicle’s own power to get itself out a sticky situation – whether you’re trapped in dirt, loose gravel, water, or snow. The Bush Winch is effective on a multitude of  2-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive vehicles.

The way it works is you attach a winch directly to the wheel and then you lightly accelerate, which causes the winch to spool up the rope and pull the vehicle forward. There is minimal wear and tear on vehicles and its safe for drivers/passengers. Manufactured and rigorously tested in Australia, the Bush Winch is available to customers across the globe.
