This Self-Driving Electric Vehicle Helps Airport Travelers With Limited Mobility

This self-driving electric mobility device helps the elderly and disabled passengers in the airport.

Meet the Whill Airport Mobility Service, an autonomous electric vehicle that provides a seamless travel experience for people with limited mobility at airports. It’s the first of its kind and enhances passenger mobility, getting them to their departure gate or anywhere in the airport.

It can be requested through an app, then to begin the ride, just press start on the electric vehicle’s tablet. When you arrive at your destination, the mobility device then autonomously drives itself back to the Whill station, waiting for the next customer to request the ride in the airport.

Airports are large and getting around for the elderly and the disabled users can be difficult. Whill is designed to make the ride to your departure gate smoother and comfortable. The electric vehicle safely avoids obstacles including other travellers and baggage in crowded spaces.
