This Portable Charger Is Made from Non-Recyclable Plastic Bags, Bubble Wrap and Batteries

In Brighton, UK non-recyclable waste is being transformed into a funky, artsy and techy solution – and its raising eyebrows at the possibilities of repurposing plastic pollution. Forward-thinkers have developed the Gomi Portable Charger made out of 100% non-recyclable plastic bags, bubble wrap, food wrapping, and pallet wrapping and batteries.

The Gomi Portable Charger is an eco-friendly 12,000mAh portable charger. Impressively, 100% of the Gomi’s power comes from repurposed batteries that are saved and would have otherwise gone to a landfill. It can charge two separate devices simultaneously, with the capacity for three to six full charges to your smartphone, depending on the model/type.

Before unrecyclable plastics are sent to refills, Gomi steps in to collect them from food wholesalers, businesses and individuals within the Brighton area in the UK. The Gomi team also reportedly collects batteries from local manufacturers and battery suppliers who are unable to use the batteries due to misprints or cosmetic irregularities.
