This Hidden Honeycomb Structure Makes Gravel Driveways, Walkways Smooth, Stable and Flood-Resistant

This is the DuPont Plantex GroundGrid, an innovative, three-dimensional geotextile-based structure used to securely and neatly pack in stone, gravel, or soil in order to provide a stable surface for both pedestrian and trafficked areas. It can be used in private driveways, paths, private car parks, golf courses, and artificial surface sports fields.

This flexible grid is super-strong and durable. Its honeycomb structure prevents the stone, gravel, or soil from spreading and keeps the driveway or pathway from sinking in. Due to its “loose infill material and the porosity of the base material,” water is able to penetrate both vertically and horizontally. This enhances drainage and prevents the pooling of water or localized flooding during heavy rainfall.

It’s also easily stored, transported, and then rolled out on-site. When unfolded, each grid covers 10 square meters (length 8 m x width 1.25m). DuPont Plantex GroundGrid is also suitable for the passage of wheelchairs, bicycles, motorcycles, etc. – and even high heels!
