Meet SeaBubbles, also known as the “Bubble,” created by a French start-up of aeronautical engineers. It’s a 100% electric and autonomous “flying” boat that lifts out of the water to prevent seasickness, sudden movements or waves rolling. The “Bubble” charges while riding, when people are boarding and exiting, and when it’s stationed at the Dock.

Also referred to a “hydrofoil water taxi,” it can fit up to four to six passengers and a pilot. The all-electric vehicle, which was tested in Paris and Geneva, is about the size of a car and can reach speeds of up to 17 mph. “It is the only zero-impact transportation ecosystem ready for the present,” the company says.

It draws inspiration from the nautical, auto and aeronautic industries. Nautical – in its production and steering systems and its hydrodynamic design. Auto – in its interior design and upper deck design. Aeronautic – in its foils that are designed by the engineers that created the Hydroptère.
