This Exoskeleton Assists People with Reduced Mobility to Stand and Walk During Rehabilitation

This is the EksoNR that’s designed to help patients stand and walk during rehabilitation. Developed by Ekso Bionics, the EskoNR works with clinicians to establish accurate movement patterns during every stage of recovery. It also challenges patients as they progress toward walking independently.

The robotic wearable device, otherwise known as robotic exoskeleton is especially beneficial in rehabilitation centers to help patients recovering from a stroke and spinal cord injuries to reclaim their lives.



The FDA-cleared EskoNR uses sensors to assist in gait training which improves overall functional balance, walking distance, and gait speed outside of the device for people with stroke and motor incomplete SCI.

Its SmartAssist software can customize motor support strength for various impairment levels, from full assistance to patient-initiated movement. It provides clinicians with full control to set training targets for each leg independently that can be modified in real-time.
