This Electric Rapid Responder Reaches Patients Where Ambulances and Firetrucks Can’t

Arcimoto, an Oregon-based electric vehicle company, is revving up the next generation of electric EMS rapid response vehicles with the development of an “electric powerhouse” called the Rapid Responder. This electric three-wheeled vehicle’s impressive torque and acceleration are designed for first responders to efficiently and more quickly reach emergencies, in which ambulances and firetrucks can’t.

The Rapid Responder, which is also beneficial for law enforcement and campus security, is built on the modular Arcimoto Platform and can reach a top speed of 75mph. Its compact size allows for easy maneuverability through traffic with a small footprint. These features reduce both response times and carbon emissions.

Equipped with a mini light bar, a siren and 360-degree scene lights, it’s also a very visible vehicle. With a seating capacity for two, the Rapid Responder can store essential emergency equipment in its rear cargo compartment and roof-mounted equipment rack. It’s also silent when operated, which allows for improved radio communication.
