This ‘Barricade Box’ Protects Against Active Shooters, During a Lockdown

This is the Barricade Box by Lockdown International, a temporary door barricade device that protects against active shooters or violent intruders during a lockdown. It was created by United States Marine Corps service-disabled veteran Chris Kopp, who has three young children and a wife who is a teacher.

Kopp, along with the entire nation, was shocked and saddened by the Columbine mass shootings and he wanted to help empower schools, businesses, and government facilities. The Barricade Box is an easy-to-install and affordable solution for school safety, office security, place of worship, healthcare facility, and other shelter-in-place locations.

The child and adult-friendly Barricade Box should be securely installed on the wall next to the door and close to its handle. All you have to do is pull the Kevlar cord completely out. (It’s “cut-resistant, burn-proof and rated at over 2,000 pounds of tensile strength.”) Then wrap the cord around the door handle, and secure the cord back into the Barricade Box.
