This 3D-Printed Bionic ‘Hero Arm’ Gives Kids ‘Superpowers’ with Swappable Marvel and Disney Covers

Meet the Hero Arm, the world’s first medically certified 3D-printed bionic arm, with multi-grip functionality and cool aesthetics that’s inspiring both kids and adults with its superpower-like qualities. With swappable covers – from Star Wars BB-8, Marvel Iron Man, Disney Frozen, and Deus Ex, the Hero Arm is versatile and ignites the imagination.

Its “superpowers” allow the user to grab and pinch, high-five, fist bump, and give a thumbs-up. Developed by Open Bionics in Bristol, U.K., this lightweight and affordable prosthetic is for below-elbow amputee adults and children (8+). This custom-built 3D printed prosthesis is solid and its socket is comfortable, adjustable, and breathable.

The Hero Arm is powered by space-grade motors, advanced software, and long-lasting batteries. The hand is available in three sizes. It’s considered the lightest on the market, yet it’s super-strong and can lift up to almost 18 lbs. The Hero Arm is available in the U.K., U.S., and France.
