A German company named Klapster put a new twist on space optimization with the invention of the Klapster, a modern folding staircase that integrates discretely into the wall when not in use. With a stylish and functional design that’s perfect for a loft, the Klapster expands valuable living space in one fluid motion – thanks to a spring-supported folding mechanism.
Klapster is designed in a modular system, which allows flexibility when constructing a staircase to fit precisely in its location and height. The innovative model consists of one step and two adjoining stringer elements, which are inserted and locked into each other just like a puzzle.

The steps and the side construction consist of high-quality multiplex birch, with the option to have HPL coating. The untreated version of the Klapster has endless possibilities for visual design – from adding vibrant colors to printed graphics or sprayed with graffiti to give the foldable stairs some funky street cred.
