The ‘Seakeeper’ Uses a Smart Torque System to Stabilize Your Boat and Stop Seasickness

Meet the Seakeeper, an innovative device that eliminates seasickness and stabilizes a boat by measuring its sway using a gyroscope (that measures and maintains orientation and angular velocity). Designed to virtually eliminate boat roll on vessels 23’ and up, the Seakeeper requires basic electrical power, has no outside attachments, and can be installed anywhere onboard.

The Seakeeper consists of a flywheel, a vacuum seal with an innovative cooling system and active control. The way it works is – inside a vacuum a flywheel spins at speeds of up to 9,750 rpm. When the boat sways, the gyroscope tilts and produces a powerful gyroscopic torque to port and starboard that counteracts the boat’s roll.

Another nifty feature is the Seakeeper’s active control, which works as smart technology, and automatically assesses sea conditions and immediately reacts. This feature ensures optimal performance at all speeds and sea conditions – and ultimately keeps your fishing buddies and sea-loving passengers happy!
