Rome Airport to Scan Passengers’ Temperatures Using a COVID-19 ‘Smart Helmet’

Engineers are testing out a “smart helmet” at Rome’s Fiumicino airport as part of a strategy to ensure passengers’ safety against Coronavirus transmission once flights resume. Using infrared technology, this high-tech helmet uses its thermo-scan sensors to check passengers’ temperatures within a 23-foot (7-meter) radius.
