Dad Invents ‘Death Stranding’ Safety Suit to Protect his Baby from Coronavirus

A 30-year-old father, who also is a Shanghai-based interior designer and video game enthusiast, invented a “coronavirus safety pod” to protect his baby boy from the deadly virus. The protective dad who is known by his moniker, Bai Ying, or the “white shadow,” designed the “special suit” for his family’s public outings.

A fan of scientific movies and games, Bai Ying drew inspiration from the popular action video game, “Death Stranding.” The structure of the safety cabin is similar to the game. It consists of a clear cabin with a filter inside and a screen that displays the density of carbon dioxide and the temperature.

There is also a special entryway with gloves so the parents can tend to their baby. After receiving a lot of interest, Bai Ying plans to patent the suit. “I feel very proud that people approve my design like I’ve turned something from the virtual world into real life,” he said.
