Amsterdam’s Proposed Underwater Tunnel for Cyclists and Pedestrians is an Architectural Gem

This is the IJ Klopper, a futuristic tunnel in Amsterdam with dramatic spiral entrances that are solely meant for cyclists. The tunnel project was proposed by architectural firm, Syb van Breda & Co. to connect Amsterdam Central Station and Amsterdam Noord. The impressive tunnel has a spiral system with a 50-meter wide drum on both ends. Pedestrians can also use the tunnel using separate lanes with access through lifts, stairs and escalators.
