Bicycle-Car Hybrid Merges Muscle Power and Electric Motor for Green Urban Transportation

Germany’s Schaeffler Bio‑Hybrid GmbH is taking on urban mobility in a smarter, more eco-friendly and hip way and the world is noticing. They’ve invented the Bio-Hybrid, a bicycle and car hybrid that comes in two versions, Passenger and Cargo that merge the best of two worlds – muscle power and an electric motor.

According to Schaeffler Bio‑Hybrid GmbH, the Bio-Hybrid has higher road safety when compared to bicycles. It doesn’t have a large carbon footprint or noise pollution as it has low noise and zero emissions. It’s also space-saving as it travels on bikeways and requires minimal parking space. It also comes with WIFI, GPS, Bluetooth, 4G and App.

The sleek-designed Bio-Hybrid has many perks. It has “the freedom and agility of a bicycle,” so you can still feel the wind in your hair and also get exercise by pedaling. Also, you can have “the cargo volume and weather protection of a small car,” not to mention the help of an electric motor when those legs get tired!

The 20 to 49-year-old demographic, which reportedly accounts for 17 percent of the German population and has the highest trendsetting potential, views pedaling as hip, practical and responsible. The German Bicycle Industry Association (ZIV) also confirms the positive market trends and increasing market share of e-bikes and new concepts, such as the Bio-Hybrid.
